FCT Minister Nyesom Wike declared an end to factionalism within the Peoples Democratic Party on 30 April 2026, after the Supreme Court dismissed an appeal by the Kabiru Tanimu Turaki-led group challenging the outcome of the party's March convention. "The Supreme Court judgment has now made it known there is only one PDP, and we no longer hear faction," Wike said, referring to the convention that had re-elected Abdulrahman Mohammed and other National Working Committee members. The ruling was welcomed by state chapters aligned with Wike's camp, including Bauchi, as clearing the path for a unified party structure heading into the 2027 general elections.
