Former Senate President Bukola Saraki, represented by Abubakar Baraje, commissioned the Assufiyya Humanitarian ICT Centre in Azare, Katagum Local Government Area of Bauchi State, on 16 August 2026. Founded by Usman Adamu Sufi through the Assufiyya Humanitarian Foundation, the centre offers 500 seats, each equipped with a brand-new laptop, Local Area Network connectivity and the facilities required for computer-based examinations. Saraki described the project as a major investment in education and youth empowerment, telling attendees that "the internet has provided a platform where you can sell your skills and products to the global market."
